The Director Project Core
The GAD Central Core consists of the Director and Office Manager and
has the function of overseeing and co-ordinating all the functions of
GAD and its projects. This ranges from administration to supervisory functions
and development and fundraising aspects to planning and liasing with outside
organisations and the charitable company GAD-CIL Board of Directors.
GAD is very proud of its achievements over the past ten years. GAD-CIL
has been a leader in developing new ideas and projects. These include:
- GAD-CIL's contribution to the Campaign for Civil Rights for disabled
people and the Direct Payments campaign.
- Personal Assistant Schemes.
- Lead disability organisation on user involvement.
- Personal Assistant Management Training.
- Developing a Personal Assistant Training Manual.
- Setting up training and trainer's courses.
- Developing the GAD Agency.
- Setting up a counsellor-training course.
- Training Care Managers on Direct Payments.
- Supporting other centres for independent living - (CIL's).
- Setting up PA Users support group.
- Setting up an Independent Living Information Service in Greenwich
with funding from the NLCB and various other funding grants.
- Counselling service.
- Disabled Young People's projects.
